It is fit to purpose. Glass. It can be heavy for kids. Lid is not tight. So can spill if you are not conscious

Update: So I've included how I use my magnetic stirrer to make ice tea (8 scoops makes a potent ice tea mix for popsicles). I have spent years looking for what turn out to be a magnetic stirrer. I thought of using blenders, battery operated stirring sticks and I've even used a large sealed jug to shake up the ice tea mix but it turn out to be as simple as a chemistry magnetic stirrer that had a small tiny rod you place into the pitcher and a magnet within the base spins which makes the tiny rod in the pitcher spins. I let the magnetic stirrer run for about 10 minutes so that the sugars are well mixed. Highly recommended to find a cheap magnetic stirrer for your pitcher.
Original review: The lid splashes all over the place when pouring(just pour slowly) and this is normal for all these glass jars regardless of the brand and yes apparently the label on the top does seem to indicate that this particular version is from china as probably the first two pitcher that I bought elsewhere is also probably from china. It really doesn't matter because you just want the form and the function of a glass pitcher. I was told once upon a time to not use plastic pitchers as leeching chemicals from plastic is not good for you, thus I switch to glass pitchers. I also read that unfiltered tap water has the daily minerals and balanced chlorine you need for a clean healthy life. who knows but at least I am not drinking from a plastic bottle. I have two glass water pitcher from another brand for over a decade now and I needed a third glass pitcher just for ice tea or orange tang mix. I figure that Instead of mixing up a glass of ice tea from powder every time I want a glass, it would be nice if I have a pitcher full of cold ice tea waiting for me in the fridge so I can take a sip without needing to make a full glass. Regarding two pitchers for water is that once you empty out one pitcher it gets refilled from tap and gets put back in the fridge to start chilling while the second already chilled pitcher now becomes your main pitcher. This process of alternating between two pitchers always guarantees you that you have cold water. My millennial daughter never understood my process thinking that I am just crazy. Anyways this particular water pitcher matches the ones that I have in my fridge and despite the label on the lid, I needed another squarish glass pitcher and this was it. highly recommended!

I just received this and am pretty disappointed. The glass feels so thin that I'm afraid it's going to crack if I bump it against something, and when it's filled with water it's heavy enough that I'm not certain the thin glass handle is going to be able to support its weight.

The bottom of the pitcher also appears to be uneven, so when sat on a flat surface and lightly touched, it wobbles back and forth a bit. Between the thinness and the wobbliness, this seems like a recipe for broken glass. I'm going to be returning it.

And for all the comments speculating on whether it's legitimate French Luminarc or not: Mine came with a small sticker on top written entirely in Chinese. So unless it's French by way of China...

First of all there’s a sticker with Chinese characters on it and no “made in France” print on the pitcher nor lid. Secondly there are five bubbles in the glass, the lines are wiggled, not the luminarc that I know. Thirdly the pitcher must have been used with watermarks all over. The worst experience with Amazon and it was the Amazon choice. Sorry to see Jeff’s chive is bad here also.

I love everything about this jug. I bought 3 of them 2 months ago and they have proven to be very sturdy. They are also very elegant on a table. Excellent product.

La tapa no está bien diseñada y hay que quitarla para que el agua no se escurra al servir

No la devolví porque realmente necesitaba una jarra grande d Vidrio con tapa, pero no es un gran producto
