Standard fits offer a more snug (but not tight) fit than our roomy or relaxed styles. They should conform to fit your foot securely with minimal or no slipping as you walk.1)Your heel should rest securely and the shoe shouldn’t ride up and down.2)Sides, top and arch area of the shoe should comfortably hug your feet.3)Wiggle room at the front of the shoe – your toes shouldn’t touch the front.

UPDATE: After contacting Crocs directly (within the 90 day quality guarantee window) they are replacing the shoes. No big cowboy fight about it. The agent said to expect the replacements in 6 business days. She said they can't change the insoles out, but the next replacement pair also has a 90 day quality guarantee on them so if I continue to have the same problem they'll continue replacing them. Still not thrilled about the design, but the Crocs customer service was A+++!
Okay, so I'm just about a perfect 10.5M show wearer, however, experiences will vary by manufacturer. I initially ordered these in a size 11 thinking that it made more sense to size slightly larger than my half-size feet. Wrong! The size 11's were big and my feet slipped out the back when walking. The size 10's fit just about perfectly and aren't uncomfortable or pressing on my feet at all. So, for what it's worth, I'd consider rounding down instead of up when buying.
►Loafer or Slip-on:
Another thing that steered me toward the Santa Cruz 2's is the fact that the back of these shoes (heel) can be stepped on and folds down nicely making them essentially slippers. I don't plan on doing it right away but as these shoes wear more throughout the Summer months it's a nice option for an even more casual look... b/c apparently I'm all about casual looks.
I purchased the SC 2's in the charcoal/light grey finish and they look sharp! I mean, I know Crocs, especially the clog-style original Crocs, have a reputation but these are good looking shoes. The sole isn't obnoxiously thick, there are no brand markings other than the color-matched small label, and in general nothing about these shoes makes me cringe. These loafers are great with shorts or a pair of chino's/khaki's and look terrific without socks on!
► Sans Socks:
Okay, here's the deal on going barefoot in these shoes - you most definitely can and the inner liner is perfectly comfortable enough. In fact, the liner is super easy to remove and presumably replace when/if it gets too worn or smelly. However, in my experience, my feet get hot in these shoes and sweat. Granted, my area is humid enough for me to swim to my neighbor's homes during the Summer. The shoes do cool and dry quickly so slipping them off for a few minutes helps!
► Why Not 5-Stars:
I do like these shoes but there's one critical flaw - the shoes rub the backs of my heels raw when I'm wearing the shoes barefoot. I really wish Crocs had designed these to be more forgiving on the back of the heel because the SC2's would be literally perfect loafers. I like these enough that I'm probably just going to use them as slip-on loafers sooner rather than later instead of returning them.
Reasonably priced, insanely comfortable (minus the back of the ankle support), and stylish! Recommended!
