ps: I am using audacity software to record video. Its free and works great with this mic. Pro-tip: Set the gain to 70% when recording audio to prevent clipping. Boost the audio later in post.
You put the C-clamp on your table and tighten it, then place the bottom of the mic arm inside it, then twist on the shockmount and open it up to place the microphone in it. Altogether, it took about 5-8 minutes to get it up and going. Just plug the USB in your PC and get started. No software required.
Sound quality wise: I did not test with music since that's not what I use microphones for. I use my microphones primarily for making YouTube videos or streaming on Twitch. I currently have a Blue Yeti with Blue Shockmount and a Rode Microphone Arm (altogether maybe $300). It catches a lot of sound everywhere. Comparatively, the Fifine 780A is the same set-up (albeit not as high quality in sound) and works perfectly for streaming or video creation.
The sound is great! I will include a sound test video along with this review along with a set-up video. There are a few downsides, such as not having a gain/volume scroll wheel or a mute button to conveniently mute the microphone. Sometimes, one of the strings on the shockmount will fall out of place, but that's super easy to put back in like 1 second.
For what it does and the price point, this product is amazing and I highly recommend it to any beginner that wants to upgrade their audio quality above just headset microphone for video game streaming on Twitch, video creation, podcast recording, and anything involving audio. You do not need a super fancy set-up to start, but you do need decent audio quality and this package does it all. Also, I started with a Blue Snowball, which is more expensive than this entire thing and inconveniently sits on my table, gets in the way of my keyboard and mouse, and it doesn't even stay in place... This product is a great deal.
The reason I gave the sound quality 4 stars is because it does have distortion to my voice and other sounds as I speak into it compared to my other microphones (Blue Yeti, Blue Snowball, and HyperX Cloud II headset microphone). The closest sound comparison to this microphone would be my headset microphone on the HyperX Cloud II.
Hope this review helped you guys helped. I will be attaching a video on the sound quality and setting it up.

Setup up was pretty simple, I like that they provide the desk holder for it, it makes it very convenient. The foam casing that housed it was much appreciated too, I use it if I want to take it around with me with my workflow.
It works well in an outdoor setting too. I used with at a park a few times with lots of background noise and it helps up my voice pretty well, compared to my MacBooks mic would.
I'm not a mic expert and I'm still new at using equipment like this, but for someone new, this worked out very well for me! :)
Hope this helps.
- High quality material does not feel cheap
- Packaged well great unboxing experience
- Heavy Duty Condenser Mic has a great weight to it.
- Front of mic picks up well even at 2-3 feet back.
- Nice deep base clear voice without much background noise pickup
- Comes with everything you need for a full mic setup for streaming or podcasting
- Mic foam that comes with this is better then my AT2020 foam that cost me $15
- Plug N Play on Windows 10
- Takes about 5-10 minutes to install everything out the box ready to go.
- USB 2.0 instead of USB-C or XLR
- Shock mount is made of plastic
- Mic Boom Arm not very long but average
- Sound is above average don't expect something like a Shure7m7b or even a AT2020
- No LED's at all to let me know if it's on or not
- No Mute Button
For the price you can't beat it. Great beginner mic setup for anyone starting off in the streaming world or podcasting. Or even if you just need a gaming mic to chat on discord it works well. If you have a better mic setup this is a great backup.
