Changed my mind. I actually will be keeping the product haha. I'm disappointed one of the links broke at such a light weight and recently after purchasing. However, the overall quality is good and it doesn't seem others are having a problem with the product. I will simply buy a strong carabiner to attach the side that broke off. Will update again if anything else (hopefully not) goes wrong.
It is unfortunate such a good brand, from which I've had positive experience before, has failed me on this product.
-It's thick, and the fabric (black) is very rigid.
-Good support on the back, not uncomfortable (BEST feature. Very comfortable.)
-It's a bit unpractical. This "old school" weight belt is more intended for people with relatively large legs and leg-waist proportion. When I started adding 50+ pounds, I found myself struggling to keep the belt from sliding from my torso. I've seen other weight belts that wrap fully around the waist (like a support weight belt) and have an extension strap/chain to add weight. THIS WAS MY BAD though. I didn't research enough, the ITEM IS SOLD AS ADVERTISED.
-THE REASON FOR ONE STAR: The chain ends are cheap; mine broke at a mere 55lbs last night. I took care of the chain too. Whenever I would load weight on the ground I would make sure not to smash the chain or put stress on it. It disappoints me that a product with such good potential, from a prestige brand, used cheap metal links that break at such light weight. From other reviews it seems they have not had this problem until they get to 3+ plates. However, this is not the case for mine.
I've had other brand name dip belt, but majority of them start ripping at the fabric after a year or so.
Chain is long enough: 1) to hook through three 45lb plates 2) Adjustable via a carabiner whether you want a longer or shorter moment arm
From my experience, I've done pull-ups with total of 110lb of plates with this belt and still feels secure.
Padding is comfortable enough to not dig into your skin or soft to the point where it don't hold its shape.
Not really much after using my first one for 3 years, but I do wish the chain is some how detachable so once in awhile I can wash the belt itself.
with this belt and chain, it makes your whole body a little heavier, but doesn't constrict your upper body motion or nerves/muscles. plus the weight hangs down more evenly instead of making your whole body tilt back like a weighted backpack does. Now I need to actually work out more with it, ha ha instead of just typing about it. :)
