It has an acurate quartz movement with subdials which show the day, date and 24 hour time (the latter being most important for setting it accurately). The face is 38 mm which is a very wearable size, not flashy or ostentatious but large enough to easily read. The subdials, however, are a bit more difficult to read, in part because of their size (which is fairly standard) but also because they are also stainless, and the markings very small. I actually returned a skagen I was otherwise quite fond of for that reason. The Invicta, however, has luminous hands, which makes it easier to read in dim lighting.
It is 10mm thick, which I personally feel is pretty hefty. I generally go for much thinner watches, 3-5mm thick. The extra depth does enhance the display, making it reminiscent of old nautical watches. It does not look clunky like so many of last year's huge watches, and is not covered with crystal, trends I am glad to see go away.
My 4 star rating reflects a nice looking and very well made time piece with features which make it practical for day to day wear. For me to really love it (5 star) it would need something which sets it apart, features like a chronograph or moon phase functions, and as I said, I personally prefer thinner watches. It is extremely well done for what it is. If you are looking for a nice looking reliable, simple and practical day to day watch you can not go wrong with this. It is attractive enough to treat as a piece of jewelry, uses high quality materials throughout and is well built and refined. The watch carries a 1 year manufacturers warranty. I have had several Invicta watches and thus far none have needed to go in for repair. As they say in the enclosed booklet, they are designed to last much longer than that, and without exception, mine have. There is an enclosed card for those who wish to extend the warranty to 4 years, and instructions for having it serviced by Invicta.
I would recommend this for those looking for a solid, practical watch which will look nice with a suit or other business attire, while not being out of place for casual wear.
Im not sure just how scratch proof the face of the watch is but i dont wanna take a chance on that either haha.. For me tho, its too much silver. Its just silver on silver on silver and at night or other times its kinda hard for a quick glance to see the time.
For what it is- its fantastic and your cant go wrong. For personal fashion taste it does the trick.. but the overkill of silver is what drops it one star.
