- An external USB 3.0 cable can be attached via micro-USB (3.0) connector. This way you can choose your own cable length. For example you can use a long USB 3.0 cable to connect the hub to your tower located under the desk.
- An additional micro-USB (2.0) connector is available to supply more power, for example, from a USB charger; no special wall-ward with hard to find barrel connector is required.
One nit pick is that the orientation of the USB ports is such that any device inserted into the port will have its "up" side orientated towards the back, to where the cables are attached. This is inconvenient when the attached USB device has an operating light, for example a USB flash drive.
I use small Scotch restickable squares to keep the hub in place.m Overall, it works very well.
I also tested the host port for voltage "backfeed" using a DROK USB 2.0 Digital Multimeter connected by gender-changer + adapter from 4 Kinds of USB 3.0 Adapters to the hub's host port while an external power source was simultaneously connected. All devices on the hub powered up and no voltage was seen (multimeter/tester did not power on).
One little niggle that I'd be remiss not to mention: the USB cable that comes with this hub is ridiculously short; about 12 inches, sans-connecters. It also comes with an instruction leaflet and a "satisfaction card" (support information) in an easy-to-open cardboard box, so no blister pack with which to cut yourself.
