Dear Inkjoy Gel Pens,
As you may or may not know, I'm an avid pen-pal-writer (love my IGGPPC friends!) and Postcrosser. There is nothing worse than drafting a masterpiece of a letter, only to have ink smudges all over the back of your hand, or worse, smudged across the paper. No longer will I be limited to boring colors of smeared ink!! No longer will I be the laughing stock of Iggles** near and far! Thanks to you, my letters and postcards are more enjoyable to write, and (I hope) fun to read. The only quibble I have is that, when writing on a smooth/slick surface, such as a glossy postcard back, my impatience gets the best of me and I don't wait long enough for the ink to set. Mind you, it's only a matter of seconds, but I'm anxious to get the address slapped on there. It still doesn't change the way I feel about you. I carry you every where I go...you're always on my mind...in my heart, in my soul...you're the meaning in my life...you're the inspriation. (Sorry...had a little Delilah moment...)

**None of these lovely people have EVER laughed at me, or any other pen pal for ink pen deficiencies. They are kind, caring, and wonderful pen pals!**
BUT...the price on these fluctuates rapidly. At the time of this review, an 8-pack of fine tip (my fave) multicolor pens was $15.98, when I bought them originally, they were about $9, and I've paid around that price a couple of times. The price seems to go up and down, so pay attention when you shop for them. I'm on to you, Amazon!
The pens I originally used in them were Monami brand, white pens with 8 different colors. They work BEAUTIFULLY in planners but my boss bought them for us for work so I can't take them with me and I can't find them in stock on Amazon anymore.
So these ones...
Sometimes they write fairly smoothly, and I haven't had much problem with leaking. The two problems I do have that render them unusable for a planner (which I did not have these problems with the Monami pens) is that 1) they show very clearly through paper that isn't kinda thick. They work nicely on notebook paper i have, but in my planner you see it right through the page, and 2) the purple, green, teal, and dark blue all look very similar. They are the correct colors but being able to glance and see my planner notes for work tasks vs. appointments vs. personal errands isn't ask obvious as i wanted.
These are very comfortable pens and i have been using them to write recipes with and journaling so i will continue to use them, but in search of a new set of planner pens!
I got these to write in my organizer, I use different colors to denote levels of importance. The range of colors is perfect, except this is my only complaint: the difference between the green and the blue-green isn't very significant, and bizarrely enough, the difference between the blue-green and the turquoise isn't very significant either..... How they managed that I do not know!!
Overall though, Just a terrific pen!! Really glad I got these! My color complaints are minor enough that I have continued to use these in my color coding scheme, I just don't use the blue-green unless it's for something in the margins!!
