oh, it's a bit wider than expected...not a bad thing...but the picture (to me) makes the desk look slimmer relative to the child...my 7 year old can sit at this desk with his knees just touching underneath (he's average height) if that's any indication of the size...
(all of the places to be screwed together do NOT have predrill holes or placement marks...just be prepared for that)
I received the desk in a nicely packed box. There were not an overwhelming amount of parts which was a relief to me, since I was putting it together on my own. The directions were clear in picture format. I like that it matched the parts and screws for you in the pictures so you would not put the wrong parts in the wrong place by mistake. As other posts have noted, there are no pre-drilled holes for the screws. I was still able to put the desk together easily with my power drill. The entire assembly only took me around 15 min. Once it was set up, my daughter loved it instantly. It fits great in our apartment and is not too bulky. It is very sturdy and I see us getting a lot of use out of it. :)
I am still rating the product highly because it is a good product. I would just kindly ask Step2 to make this a little easier for parents to assemble or at least warn about the non-existent holes and need for a power screw driver.
