My son really enjoys playing with this puzzle. It’s fun for him to put them together and ask questions about the pictures. It builds up his vocabulary.

GREAT PUZZLES BUT WITH TWO SERIOUS FLAWS
Reviewed in the United States on 21 November 2020
I got three sets of these puzzles:
- What animals eat
- Where animals live
- Mothers and babies
Each puzzle comes in a very cute box, suitable for either storage or gifting. Each box has 12 puzzles, so 24 pieces. All pieces are well made and nothing was missing.
The pieces are sturdy and about two inches square, a little smaller than I was picturing, but really plenty big enough.
Images are cute. All of the animals are smiling, including the firefly who's about to be eaten by the frog and the fish who is the penguin's lunch.
But this set is fatally flawed. Every piece fits with every other piece. I've never encountered anything like it. The product claims to be self-correcting, but it absolutely is not. While the background images are sufficiently distinct that you should be able to tell which two items go together, many of the backgrounds are the same shade of blue or green.
To make matters even worse, the pieces from all three sets are also interchangeable! In fact, some of the pieces are identical, such as the dog who goes with a doghouse in one set and his bone in another.
When putting everything together, I spotted another flaw, this one in the category of animal cruelty. The happy mama and baby elephant are in the circus; she is balanced on one leg. The whole world has found enlightenment when it comes to displaying these intelligent animals in cruel circuses to the point where Ringling has gone out of business. Promoting this concept in these cards is a step backwards and teaches the child that elephants in circuses is okay; it's not.
BOTTOM LINE: Well made and fun, these puzzles are flawed in that half the pieces fit with any of the other half. And I could have done without the happy circus elephant.
