My impressions after 72 Hours with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 (After the Hype!).
The front screen is perfectly usable and nice to look at.
Everything feels super snappy. I just upgraded from the Samsung S20 Ultra and this makes my old phone feel terrible performance, overheating, throttling, and poor battery life because of the Samsung S20 Ultra Exynos 990 chipset vs. the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chipset.
Split-screen is easy to use and actually really nice. I never really used multitasking before on a phone, but the main display has enough room to make multitasking pleasant.
The main display is wild. It's super clear, the 120Hz refresh rate keeps everything feeling super smooth, when looking at it straight on you don't see the crease at all, and I barely feel it when using it. I find myself looking for excuses to pull my phone out more just so I can stare at the display.
It's just really nice to use. It feels great in the hand, it's not super slippery and it's easy to hold one-handed even with the main display open. The One UI 2.5 is definitely fine-tuned to make the phone easy to use with things like buttons to move on-screen pads over to the side to make them easier to use one-handed, or the way that the keyboard is automatically split so you can easily type two-handed.
The fingerprint sensor is the fastest I've ever seen. I can unlock my phone by just barely tapping it. The bottom line the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is the future of smartphones in the palm of your hands and I can’t imagine myself after using Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 going back to use unfolded smartphones.
Thank you, Samsung, for the top most innovative smartphone of 2020.
