About Unknown Credit Card Charges

When you have a charge from Amazon that you do not recognize, here are some common scenarios to consider before taking time to contact us.

Important: Do not send your card number via e-mail, as this is not a secure transmission method.

Your complete order history is available in Your Account. If you do not recognize a charge, consider the following common scenarios:

  • An order placed by a child, spouse, friend, relative, or co-worker with access to your card number.
  • Additional cards associated with the credit or debit account.
  • Previously placed orders for pre-order items.
  • Recently canceled or changed orders. Some banks show authorizations as pending or processing charges.

If the charge is not explained by any of these situations, please contact us.
